Candy Lacquer Modern Love

Hi guys, today I'm showing you an awesome indie polish by Candy Lacquer.
This is Modern Love, it's got black and white bar glitter, black and white diamonds and squares, black and white small glitters and white heart shape glitters.
I layered this over OPI Ate Berries In The Canaries.

This is two coats of Modern Love over two coats of OPI Ate Berries in the Canaries. You do have to dab the glitters in the right spots to get even coverage accross the nail, and even then it doesn't always work out (see my ring finger). The problem with this is that you get an uneven coverage of the lacquer base which makes it even chunkier and can cause bubbles. You also have to fish out the heart glitters which is a pain. Also, I can't hear any balls in the polish when you shake it, there could be one, but for this kind of glitter, you really need at least two to break up the glitter. I suggest standing this on its head for a while before using it.

Candy Lacquer is available from Candy Lacquer Etsy Shop for $8 per 15mL

OPI DS Fantasy

Hi guys, today I'm showing you one of my favourite polishes! This is OPI DS Fantasy. I often don't wear this one because my bottle is always really hard to open, and it does stain :(
Despite this, it is STUNNING! It is completely opaque in one coat and it's super smooth.
It's a super deep sapphire/navy blue with a very complex deep shimmer and some super subtle pismatic effects, but deffinately not holographic.

Unfortunately, Fantasy is discontinued and going for some hefty prices on eBay, ranging from about about thirty to sixty dollars a bottle :S

Essie Turquoise & Caicos with As Gold As It Gets: Inspired by Orsay from Sigma

Hi guys! I mentioned in my Sigma Paris Palette review that I NEEDED A nail polish in the colour Orsay. Well today I thought I'd try an replicate it!

I used Essie Turquoise and Caicos which is the prettiest colour, but I don't use it often because I have other turquoise polishes with a nicer and more opaque formula. This is two super thick coats. I then used one coat of Essie As Gold As It Gets from the Luxeffects collection.

And here is Orsay:
Obviously it isn't exact, but close :)

A-England Lady of The Lake: Swatch & Comparison

Hi guys, so the sun finally came out today!! So I'm going to show you A-Englands Lady of The Lake!
Lady of the lake is a blue toned purple with a sight dustyness to it with a subtle holographic effect!

And in the shade.

I also decided to do a comparison shot for you guys!

On the Left is Nubar Treasure, Middle A-England Lady of The Lake, Right Color Club Wild At Heart

To me, the closest is Color Club Wild At Heart. I'm torn between which I prefer, the Color Club is much more holo and has this sort of inner glow I find really beautiful, it is also a lot more opaque than the A-England. However, The A-England's dustyness and cooler tones make it much more flattering on my skintone.

A-England polishes can be purchased at A-England.co.uk for £9.00 which as of today converts to just over 13 Australian dollars and  just over 14 US Dollars. A-England also have free international shipping.

Alternatively, A-England can be purchased from Llarowe for $12 USD plus postage and handling, which is still pretty reasonable.

China Glaze On Safari Collection: I'm Not Lion

Hi guys, today I'm showing you another polish from the China Glaze On Safari collection.
This is I'm Not Lion - such a cute name hehe.
I'm not Lion is a pale gold glitter with holographic particles. It looks like its got some silver glitter in there too. I used three coats, but two would probably have been fine. I did double up on the topcoat, but it isn't an extremely hungry glitter.

China Glaze DV8 & Nail Polish Ring!

Hi guys, today I'm showing you one of my alltime favourite polishes!
China Glaze DV8 from the OMG collection! I used two easy thin coats for this teal holographic goodness!

I'm also wearing this awesome nail polish ring I got from etsy. This was made with Bandeau by Urban Outfitters (I'd never heard of this, but I think I need it!) and OPI DS Shimmer.

See more of my swatches from the OMG collection:

GIVEAWAY WINNERS!

Hi guys! So my Giveaway has officially ended and its time to announce the winners. I assigned every entry a number and then used random.org to generate each winner.

So, without further ado, lets get into the winners after the jump!

China Glaze On Safari: Exotic Encounters Swatch & Comparison

Hi guys, today I'm showing you one of the polishes from the new China Glaze On Safari Collection for Summer 2012. This is a collection of twelve shades that are a lot more 'fall' colours than the traditional summer shades, but then again China Glaze just released a 12 piece neon collection aha.
The first one I'm showing you is Exotic Encounters.
Exotic Encounters is a creme teal which leans A LOT more toward the green side. It also has a dustiness  to it. It applied well with no streaks, but I did find that the brush seemed to pick up a lot more polish than I needed, even when wiping some off, so something to keep in mind. This polish was very pigmented and you could totally get away with one coat if you so wished. I did two coats in my swatches as photos tend to bring out every inconsistancy in polish aha.

I also did a comparison for you guys.

Left: OPI Jade Is The New Black, Middle: Exotic Encounters, Right: Essie Go Overboard.

Thanks for Reading!
Are you planning on picking anything up  from this collection?

Glitter Gradient: Candy Lacquer Black Ice & Zoya Sooki

Hi guys, today I'm showing you another Candy Lacquer polish!
I thought I'd play with this one a bit, and I really like the result. I used a base of Zoya Sooki which looks a little too orange in this photo. I then used Candy Lacquer Black Ice and did a glittter gradient. If you're going to try this I'd do a black polish tip first, otherwise you'll end up with your nails looking really chunky like mine with too many coats of Black Ice lol

PLEASE EXCUSE THE CRAPPY CELLPHONE PICTURE - CAMERA IS CURRENTLY ON THE FRITZ.

Candy Laquer Peyton & China Glaze Bahemian Escape

Hi guys!
So this week I did my first "indie polish" brand order.. I ordered from Candy Lacquer on Etsy.
In my oppinion the problem with indie sellers is that they are often out of stock, don't get me wrong, I understand that they are handmade and that takes time and money, but it is frustrating sometimes. Before going indie shopping also keep in mind that these shops go on holidays so you may not be able to order when you want.
Regardless of this, the service was very good and shipping was quick, the products were well packaged as well.

The first polish I'll show you is called Peyton, it's a spectraflair topcoat! The formula is nice and easy to apply. While it's not the most IN YOUR FACE holo around, it does have a fair degree of rainbow. In my pictures it's a little subtler as I had barely any sun!
I layered one coat of Peyton over China Glaze Bahemian Escape.

Candy Lacquer is available on Etsy HERE. Most polish retails for $8 per 15mL, but Peyton if I remember correctly was $12.

Sigma Paris Palette Review!

Hi guys, so first off this doesn't have anything to do with nails lol, I recently purchased the sigma paris palette and wanted to share my thoughts :) Now from what I understand, this palette was created by seven youtube 'beauty gurus'. I used to watch two of them and really liked them, but the others I'd never heard of..
Anyway, this palette contains eight eyeshadows, two blushes and a highlight shade all inspired by the beautiful city of paris. It also contains two fullsize sigma brushes the E55 Eye shadow brush and the F40 angled blush brush. This palette is limited edition and retails for $59 on sigmabeauty.com, however, if you go to any of the youtubers chanels they give you a code for $10 off so I paid $49.

So this is the cover slip that comes over the palette, super cute!

Read on after the jump for more pictures & a reveiw!

Teal shimmer Nails & Makeup Look!

Hi guys, today I'm showing you my teal look aha, I'm going to a party tonight and thought I'd spice it up with my makeup, I did teal nails to match but they aren't as bright as my eyes lol

 Sorry for the cellphone pic!

This is Essie Go Overboard (ONE COAT!) I freaking love this polish such a great and pigmented formula I'm not especially used to from Essie! I then did one coat of CND Sapphire Sparkle to sort of brighten it a bit!

Here you can see the bright vibrancy of the makeup
Here it looks a bit toned down..

I used Too Faced shadow insurance, Urban decay foxy on my brow bone, I then used the new Sigma Paris Pallette for the rest of they eye. I have Lourve in the crease and outercorner as well as the bottom lashline, I used a tiny bit or Orsay in the centre and then Verseilles in the inner corner. I also used Eiffel to darken the crease slightly and a teeny bit on the lower lashline. I also have some no name false lashes just on the edges of my eye.

Nfu-Oh #52!! Glossy & Matte

Hi guys, today I'm showing you one of my alltime favourite polishes!
NFU-OH 52!
Now I've shown this before, but these pictures are a bit better, unfortunately the beauty of 52 cannot be captured on camera! It's a blue blurple jelly base packed with blue green duchrome flakies!

I also tried it with a matte topcoat, but I like it better glossy.

I layered one coat of Nfu Oh 52 over 3 coats of Nubar Blueberry. I fully intended to swatch this for you, but I had planned on waiting till the morning to take pictures, but somehow, cleaning my makeup brushes managed to make weird cloudy marks all over it which wouldn't come off, so on went 52 lol.

However, I did take this picture holding my dogs hand? why? because I'm weird lol

OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls

Hi guys, today I'm showing you a polish from the recent OPI Amazing Spiderman collection. I originally wasn't going to pick this up. Who needs another white right?
Although many bloggers have described this as a white with a tint of grey, I can practically only see white.
Regardless of how much I didn't need this I'm glad I picked it up. I love white nails!
It applied lovely in two thicker coats.

If You Moust You Moust by OPI

Hi guys, I really feel like I've been stepping out of my comfort zone with the last two polishes I've worn, as many of you know, pink is not my thing! Infact, I'm not even sure why I was attracted to this polish lol.

Anyway, this is two coats of If You Moust You Moust that was recently released in the limited edition Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection. The formula was lovely and I do really like the colour, I personally have nothing like it, however, many of you will, it isn't especially unique.
I really like this polish, it's cool toned so it's more flattering on my skintone, but it's not something I'll be reaching for too often :)

NEON! China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy

Hi guys, today I'm showing you a neon, unfortunately this is not from the new china glaze neon collection but from last years poolside neon collection.
I'm not the hugest fan of neon, as I cannot really pull it off, and it's not really "me".
Anyway, this is one coat of Flip Flop Fantasy over White on White. I had a hard time photographing this one so I had a shot at editing it to make it colour accurate, hopefully you can't notice lol

Actually when I upload this, it looks a bit too pink, argh godamn.
This is a pink leaning CORAL neon.

This second photo is a little bit tooo pink..

Glitter Gradient: OPI Crown Me Already & China Glaze For Audrey

Hi guys! So as you guys know, China Glaze For Audrey is one of my favourite polishes, so today I decided to rock it with a silver glitter gradient using OPI Crown Me Already.
I've seen this combo done before and it's been on my to-do list for ages and I'm so glad I did it! This is one of my faviourite manicures I've done in a while!

China Glaze Midnight Kiss & Makeup Look

Hi guys, so today I was wearing an eye look that was very gold using Urban Decay Half Baked from the Naked2 pallette. So I decided to do some gold nails! I used two coats of Midnight Kiss which applied very nice & non-streaky or brush-strokey.

And here is my makeup? Why? Because I needed a new facebook picture lol

And the mandatory photo of one of my dogs!

As you can see, I am NO makeup artist, or photographer of makeup LOL
I am wearing Urban Decay half baked on my lid and under my eye and I used busted in the crease and then chopper over it because I changed my mind lol. I am wearing a no name black pencil liner and mascara. On face I have a Covergirl Liquid foundation and then Rimmel Stay Matte, and I have an old avon lipstick called 'camel' on my lips

OPI Done Out In Deco & CND Sugar Sparkle

Hi guys!
So today I'm wearing OPI Done Out In Deco, it's a dusty lavender colour, which is showing a bit too bright in the pictures. It applied beautifully in two even coats. I then applied two coats of CND Sugar Sparkle an irridecent flakie polish!
