Holographic Party: Color Club Halo Hues Picks

Hi guys! So When I saw the Color Club Halo Hues collection was coming out, i was amazed at how amazing these polishes looked! They have the holographic quality of China Glaze OMG, Nfu Oh, old OPI DS polishes and many other amazing brands. I only picked up two, because I own sooo many holos ahaand these aren't particularly cheap

This one is Angel Kiss which is a light sea-foam green.
This was three thin coats.

Now, I also got Blue Haven and when they arrived I was suprised how similar these two are.
Maybe because I swatched them one after another, but they look the same to me, especially in the sun.

Essie Butler Please

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you another polish from Essies Winter 2012 collection. This is called Butler Please. It's a medium-dark cobolt blue creme. I'm not immidiatley drawn to these colours for some reason, I like creme light blues, but once they head into medium blue teritory I like them to be shimmery or glittery.
Anyway, I used three coats here, but you might be able to do two if you're careful with the application because I found this to be a little bit gloopy and harder to work with than other Essie polishes usually are.

LUSH CHRISTMAS HAUL.

Hi guys! Today I wanted to show you a bunch of stuff I got from LUSH recently when all their Christmas stuff came out. I ordered online from Lush Australia for $9 flatrate shipping. I ordered on a friday and had it first thing tuesday morning. You can pay exra for express shipping, but in my experience it is not any faster. This is my first year trying xmas stuff from lush, they were all sold out of the stuff i wanted last year online.

The Melting Snowman Bath Melt
"Exquisitely fragranced with a blend of oils containing vanilla absolute and sweet wild orange, giving him a deep marzipan fragrance with notes of rich fruit, reminiscent of Christmas cake and figgy puddings."
$4.95

Essie Where's My Chauffeur? Swatch & Comparison

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you Essie Where's My Chauffeur from their holiday 2012 collection, I can never pass up a turquoise!
I used two fairly generous coats for essies small brush.

I then decided to do a quick comparison with a few popular turquoise shades you might have.
Left to Right:
China Glaze For Audrey, Orly Frisky, Essie Where's My Chauffeur?, Zoya Wednesday, Essie Turqouise & Caicos.

No 100% dupes here, the closest by far was Orly Frisky (In Real Life) While Frisky is more opaque it stains like a bitch which I didn't experience when removing Where's My Chauffeur?

Zoya Ornate 2012: Blaze Quick Swatch

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you Zoya Blaze from the 2012 Ornate collection. This is a berryish red shade with chunky holographic scattered particles without being a glitter lol. I used two coats for full coverage. It reminded me of OPI Ds Extravagance but this is a bit more on the red side but quite similar.

Nubar Petunia Sparkle

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you Nubars Petunia sparkle from their Sparkle collection from 2010. This is a bright pink magenta purple glitter. It is opaque in two (maybe three) coats and the glitter is pretty smooth. It's a little more purple in my pictures than in real life but yeah lol.

Quick Swatch: Lippmann Good Girl Gone Bad

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you a polish I bought AGES ago and never wore. This is Lippmann's Good Girl Gone Bad which is a dark magenta berry sparkle polish, I used two coats for full opacity

Zoya Logan Swatch & Comparison AND 18k Gold Flake Topcoat

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you Zoya Logan from the 2012 Ornate Holiday collection. Logan is a dark green with golden sheen which is quite similar to Ivanka. I used two coats for full coverage which I thought was impressive as other Zoyas with a similar finish always seem to need three +.

Top: Ivanka. Bottom: Logan

I then decided to layer the Zoya 18k gold topcoat over it as I didn't think it would be as good over the plain black andwhite that came with the kit.

Quick Swatch: Nubar Mali Blue

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you a Nubar polish I found recently called Mali Blue. Which is a lovely vibrant blue frost. It looked a lot darker in the bottle but I like the bright look better. I used three thin coats. Be careful because brushstrokes can be a problem.
What I think makes this polish unique as it seems to have sparkles that glitter in the sunlight.

Coewless Galaxy Drip Manicure

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you a manicure I did based off one I saw on the Coewless Nail Blog (aka. the girl with the most amazing nails in the world.) that I just HAD to re-create!

To do this manicure I used a base of Zoya Purity which came in the 18k gold set. I then used Charla on my ring finger and used a dotting tool to create the drips. I then grabbed Zuza on a sponge and sponged a bit of that on, and a tiny bit of Zoya Song. (Wow were a Zoya party today!) After that I went back to Purity on a detail brush and drew some eight spoke stars and some random dots. Then finally I used Nubar White Polka Dot (about 2-3 coats) over the drips and the ring finger.
I love how this turned out, lots of fun!

OPI Skyfall 2012: Die Another Day

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you another polish from OPIs holiday collection. This one is Die Another Day. Die Another Day is a shimmer bright red, to be honest I don't have much more to say about it. Application was even and opaqaue in two coats. If you're looking for a shimmery red this is nice, but nothing special.

meh.

Zoya Ornate Collection 2012: Aurora

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you Zoya Aurora from their holiday Ornate collection. Aurora is a medium-dark purple base PACKED with holographic particles. It is actually more holographic in real life, and deffinately the most holographic of the collection. The holographic particles aren't chunky making this a glitter, it's a very smooth polish and was easy to remove. I used two coats.
This is the only one of the Zoya colours from this collection that made me say WOW out loud when I put it on my nails and stepped into the sun lol

Thanks for reading!

Zoya Ornate Collection 2012: Storm

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you a polish from the Zoya holiday collection. This is Storm. It is a black base with small prismatic particles throughout which look silver in the shade. It is a little more prismatic than in my photos but nothing incredibly special in my opinion unless you really like this look.

Thanks for reading guys!
Have you picked anything up from this collection?

China Glaze Holiday 2012: Champagne Kisses

Hi guys! Today I want to show you a stunning polish from China Glaze's holiday collection this year. This is Champagne Kisses. It's a pale gold/beige glitter that is just beautiful! I would say this is my favourite polish from any holiday collection this year so far. It is opaque in 2-3 coats and dries pretty fast. It sort of reminds me of sand, but sparkley lol. Oh I just love it!

OPI The Man With The Golden Gun 18k Gold Topcoat

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you OPI's The Man With The Golden Gun. This was released as part of the Skyfall collection but as an extra sort of lol. This topcoat is made with real 18k gold and as a result has a much higher price point than regular OPI polishes. In the US it retails for $30 USD but I'm not sure about Australia and other countries. I got mine on eBay.
It comes in an opaque gold bottle which is interestig. But unfortunately this polish is pretty "sheer" meaning the gold flakes are sparse. I did a 'gradient' type manicure but it took about 4-5 coats to get this effect but it is still sparse. I used it over OPI Yogata Get This Blue.

Quick Swatch: Nubar Raspberry Truffle

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you Nubars Raspberry Truffle it's a dark brownish plum purple with magenta/berry/red sparkle in it. it's similar to Orlys Rocogogo but less sparkley and less purple/plum.
It was sheer on the first coat, but opaque in two.

OPI Skyfall 2012: Skyfall

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you the namesake of OPI's Skyfall holiday collection. Skyfall is a deep maroon/burgandy creme it sort of reminds me of blood lol. It applied so smoothly in two coats.
This is a beautiful fall/winter colour but I don't really think it's something very special.
It reminded me of Chanel April but it's a lot lighter than Skyfall.

Quick Swatch: Nubar Midnight Matte

Hi guys! Today I dug out a polish from my helmer I haven't used in ages. This is Nubar Midnight Matte which is a dark charcoal matte polish with a suede like finish.
I used two coats. Something I love about mattes is that they dry so fast!

OPI Skyfall 2012: You Only Live Twice

Hi guys! Yet another polish from the OPI Skyfall collection for the holidays! This one is called You Only Live Twice. It's a rasberry magenta jelly with gold glass fleck throughout. It's very sparkley! This polish is similar but not a dupe for one of the colours from the minnie mouse collection released earlier this year.

Post-Halloween, Halloween Lacquer: China Glaze Mummy May I?

Hi guys! I wanted to wear this polish to show you before Halloween but I just didn't get around to it sorry! This is China Glaze Mummy May I from their Halloween collection two years ago.
This is a super dark blackened purple base packed with magenta glitter. It is on the thick side and a bit gloopy but opaque in two coats and the glitter was spread pretty evenly.

OPI Skyfall 2012: Casino Royale

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you another polish from the new Skyfall collection by OPI! This one is Casino Royale which is a medium-dark plum creme. When I first saw this I thought immidately of OPI Just A Little Rosti At This & Honk If you Love OPI but neither are even close!

This polish had an amazing formula! 90% opaque in one coat (I used 2) and no streaking. I did find a little bit of staining though.
