A cute Halloween design ruined by my impatience: A Halloween Nail Fail

Hi guys! So I saw this really cute design on tumblr somewhere but I don't know who did it sorry! But I thought I'd try and recreate it today since it's Halloween!

I used a base of Zoya Jancyn and then used a black striper polish from Orly's Instant Artist line called Jet Black  and a bit of Liquid Vinyl by Orly and a dotting tool to create drips on my nails.
This looked all cute until....
The Liner by Orly dried to a matte finish and looked super weird and I wanted to take photos immidiately so I slapped on a top coat (Without Thinking) and smeared it!
It worked somewhat better on my middle fingers as I really glopped the topcoat on and moved it around and since it was so thick the brush wasn't dragging the design.
Oh well.
It still looks cool from a distance!

OPI Skyfall 2012 Collection: The Spy Who Loved Me

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you another polish from the OPI Skyfall collection 2012 for the holidays. This one is called the Spy Who Loved Me and it's a beautiful red with a gold glittery shimmer throughout. I was dissapointed that it didn't show up as well on my nails as it did in the bottle, but eh. You win some, you lose some. I used two coats for opacity.
This is similar to Zoya Kimmy but Kimmy is A LOT more sparkley!

Nfu Oh #62

Hi guys! Today I thought I'd pull out another of my nfu-Oh holos! This one is #62 and it's a beigey/tan shade with a strong linear holographic effect.
I used two super thin coats. Be aware that nfu-oh holos tend to bring out the worst in your nails, I'm talking every dent, nick and ridge so try a ridge filling basecoat (or topcoat) underneath in attempt to smooth out the nail.

Nfu-Oh nail polishes are available from http://www.crushcosmetics.com.au/  shipping internationally :)

OPI Skyfall Collection 2012: Tomorrow Never Dies

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you a polish from OPIs Skyfall Holiday collection that was just released. This is called Tomorrow Never Dies.
Tomorrow Never Dies is a blurple shade with a slight frost. When you put on the first coat you can really see the purple in it but after two it was nearly all blue to my eyes. It has a slight frost to it but it isn't incredibly brush-strokey, but they're there so be careful with application lol.

China Glaze Halloween 2012: Cast A Spell

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you a polish from this years China Glaze Halloween Collection Wicked. This one is called Cast A Spell.
It's a dark olivey green with a strong gold shimmer throughout. It was very opaque I barely needed a second coat. I thought it might be similar to OPIs Live and Let Live/Die (I can't recall the name off the top of my head) from Skyfall 2012 but this one leans a lot more olivey/brown and has a lot more shimmer than the OPI.

Quick Swatch: Zoya Kimmy

Hi guys! Today I dug up Zoya Kimmy out of my stash and was immidiately reminded why I purchased this polish in the first place! It is a red jelly base packed with golden flecky shimmer, it shines like there is no tomorrow!
I used three coats for full opacity but it also created brilliant intensity!

Throwback Thursday: Halloween 2011 - China Glaze It's Alive

Hi guys! Today I thought I'd swatch a polish from last years China Glaze Halloween Collection called It's Alive.
It's Alive is a swampy, murky, olivey green jelly base packed with glitter. It suprisingly didn't look horrible on me in my opinion. I used two coats over a base of China Glaze Cast A Spell

Would you ever wear a shade like this?

OPI Skyfall Collection 2012: The Golden Eye

Hi guys! Today I'm going to show the first of the colours from the OPI 2012 Holiday Collection themed after James Bond and the most recently released film: Skyfall.
This is The Golden Eye! It is possibly the most intense nail polish ever. A super rich warm gold that just SCREAMS look at me! It has a slightly foil looking finish but consists almost entirely of gold flakes/flecks that are so densely packed in a clear base that you only need two coats for full opacity. (NOTE: This is different to the 18k gold flake top coat The Man With The Golden Gun also released along with this collection.)

My camera cannot even handle the intensity of the golden eye.
Amazing.

I used a base of Essie No More Film and then added Make A Spectacle which is a multi coloured irridescent glitter polish. I then finished off with a coat of Essie Matte About You.

Please excuse the weird lighting, the sun was on its way down when I took this picture :)
Thanks For Reading!

Nfu Oh #61 Nothin' Like A Holo on a Beautiful Sunny Day

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you a holo from Nfu Oh. This is #61 the basic silver holo but it's so much more than that. I bought this from crush cosmetics.com  and was so dissapointed when I recieved it a few months back as it did not look holo at all, especially compared to other nfu-ohs I have. BUT when I finally decided to wear it I was amazed at how amazing it is! Just as holo as the others!

Subtle Shredded Manicure

Hi guys! Today I wanted to create a beautiful shredded manicure but it didn''t turn out as well as I hoped. Unfortunately the colours I chose weren't contrasting enough to make a big impact but I still think it's pretty none the less.
For this manicure I used a base of Color Clubs Take Me To Your Chateu and then Blue-ming for the shredded part. To create this look all you need is tape and scissors :)

No I don't Have A Really Bad Fake Tan.
I Had to adjust my camera settings to accentuate the shredded manicure contrast.

Quick Swatchn: Zoya Isla

Hi guys! Today I wanted to show you a beautiful red I've had in my collection for ages. This is Zoya Isla, it's extremely similar to OPI's Im not really a waitress.
I used two coats :)

Rasberry Blue Bell Dotticure

Hi guys! So it's a beautiful Spring day here in Australia, and I'm feeling the urge to go jump in the pool! Today I have a really cute dotticure that screams spring/summer.
I used a base of Essie Watermelon (2 coats) which is smack bam in the middle between a hot pink and a red and then used Orly Frisky to create some diagonal dots across my nails using a dotting tool from ebay. I hope you like it!

Nubar Midnight Sparkle

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you an old polish by Nubar which I stumbled upon in my Helmer this week. This is Midnight Sparkle from the sparkle collection. It is a midnight blue glitter nail polish that is fairly opaque in two coats. You seriously need a topcoat with this colour, it sort of dries matte and looks like chunky blue sand without two thick coats of topcoat and then it's beautiful lol

Zoya Neeka

Hi guys! Today I wanted to show you one of my favourite Zoya polishes called Neeka. Neeka is a super dusty dark purple with gold micro glitter throughout. I use two coats for full coverage and it applies super easily. This came out in last years fall collection by Zoya called Smoke & Mirrors. It is fairly similar to Zoya Lotus but with gold sparkle instead of the pink/purple shimmer of Lotus.

Revisiting Orly Fowl Play

Hi guys! Today I decided to revisit Fowl Play by Orly. Fowl Play is a dark deep purpley plum jelly base packed with green/gold/orange flakies and bright blue microglitter. It came out in a fall collection by Orly maybe two years ago? called Birds of A Feather. I use two coats of Fowl Play which is great for a Jelly formula!

Yogata Get This Blue & CND Sapphire Sparkle

Hi guys as you all know CND's Sapphire Sparkle is one of my alltime favourite polishes that I've raved about a lot in the past and today I wanted to show you my favourite combination with it

I used OPI's Yogata Get This Blue which is an amazing sapphire blue shimmer opaque in two coats

I then layered one coat of CNDs Sapphire Sparkle over the top

Here you can see the pink/purple/blue duochrome of the polish a bit, but it is much more obvious is real life!
Ah I can't even write anything else about this polish, I just LOVE it.

Quick Swatch: Essie Go Overboard

Hi guys so I wanted to swatch Essies Go Overboard for you today, I got this shade about a year ago and it was really the shade that changed my whole oppinion of Essie. I love this colour, it is completely 110% opaque in one thin coat and I don't think you could get streaks if you tried.

China Glaze Sea Spray & Stamping

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you Sea Spray for China Glaze which is a really pale blue with a lot of grey in it with a super faint silver shimmer. I used two coats for full coverage and then decided to do a little bit of stamping on an accent nail. I used Konad special white and a stamping plate from BornPretty.com

As you can see that little impatient me decided to add topcoat strait away thus causing a little bit of the design to smudge but it still looks okay.

Orly Roco-Go-Go

Hi guys! OMG so I got this colour years ago when it came out and only just re-discovered it in my collection, I'd never even tried it before lol.
Roco-Go-Go applied so well and only took two coats for full coverage. It's a dark purple with purple and gold shimmer throughout. I had a hard time capturing how much it actually sparkles but it is beautiful!

This shade is also really similar to Zoya Jem
Have You re-discovered any pretties recently?

Nubar Lavender & Essie Pure Pearlfection

Hi guys today I'm wearing one of my favourite lavender colours, this is Lavender by Nubar that was released as part of a pastel collection a few years back. I use two coats for total coverage and it has a fantastic formula. This is my favourite lavender colour I've found so far. I used to really love OPIs Do You Lilac It but I decided I wanted something more blue toned so I swapped it away years ago.

I then decided to add a coat of Essie Pure Pearlfection for some shimmer :P

What's Your favourite Pastel Purple?

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you one of my alltime favourite polishes! This is Zoya Charla, but I also own OPI Catch Me In Your Net & Orly Halleys Comet as backups lol which are all dead on dupes which I have a comparison post of from ages ago.
I used three coats of Charla to get full opacity and amazing deapth!

Thanks for Reading!
What's Your favourite polish!

Naked Cosmetics Ivory Stack: Swatches & Review

Hi guys! So last week I attended IMATS in Sydney and had the most amazing time! The main thing I wanted from IMATS was the Naked Cosmetics Ivory Stack which is basically the CND Effects of eye shadows! I was so happy to pick this up for $25 a stack (I also picked up a glitter one) which is amazing considering on the Australian Naked Cosmetics website it retails for $80!

They come in six individual pots but if you remove the lid you can screw them into the bottom of another, thus making the 'stack' which saves a lot of space.

Anyway, I decided to swatch them for you because there isn't that many on the internet!

L-R: 1,2,3,4,5,6
As you can see these pigments are sheer "topcoats" to put over other colours to give them sparkle and more dimension.
Number one is the most disappointing for me as it is just a pearly white where as the others all have a colourful sparkle that really comes out when layered over a dark colour.

L-R: 2.3.4.5.6 over NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil In Black Bean
(excuse the lump of eye pencil in the middle of the gold lol a chunk broke off)

Overall I am inlove with this collection! My favourtie is the gold it is sooooo pretty, and my least favourite is number one, it's just a pearly white - a bit boring if you ask me.
I would completely recomend this collection to give sparkle to any look!

These eyeshadows are available in the Ivory stack or each shade is sold individually on the Australian and U.S Naked Cosmetics Website.

Zoya Zuza

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you Zoya Zuza from the Surf collection released in Spring. I swatched this when I first got it when it came out but only just realised I never posted about it, So I've dug it back out of the helmer to show you today :)

Zuza is actually a very unique colour. You never see light turquoise foils like this!. It is pretty opaque, I used two coats for complete coverage, but the formula is also a bit thick.
I really love Zuza! Have you checked it out yet?
