Nubar Lavender

Hi guys, long time no talk. I'm so sorry for being a bad blogger the last few months, but as some of you know I recently just moved states for my second year of UNI which has been a huge adjustment with classes that I have no prior knowledge for aha *cough* chemistry.

I've also been trying to grow out some really terrible breaks in my nails

Anyway, today I'm back and have a favourite of mine to show you today. This is Nubar Lavender. A classic light lilac creme. Opaque in two coats and non-streaky.

Probably should have cleaned up around my nails before taking pictures :S

Nubar Petunia Sparkle

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you Nubars Petunia sparkle from their Sparkle collection from 2010. This is a bright pink magenta purple glitter. It is opaque in two (maybe three) coats and the glitter is pretty smooth. It's a little more purple in my pictures than in real life but yeah lol.

Quick Swatch: Nubar Mali Blue

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you a Nubar polish I found recently called Mali Blue. Which is a lovely vibrant blue frost. It looked a lot darker in the bottle but I like the bright look better. I used three thin coats. Be careful because brushstrokes can be a problem.
What I think makes this polish unique as it seems to have sparkles that glitter in the sunlight.

Coewless Galaxy Drip Manicure

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you a manicure I did based off one I saw on the Coewless Nail Blog (aka. the girl with the most amazing nails in the world.) that I just HAD to re-create!

To do this manicure I used a base of Zoya Purity which came in the 18k gold set. I then used Charla on my ring finger and used a dotting tool to create the drips. I then grabbed Zuza on a sponge and sponged a bit of that on, and a tiny bit of Zoya Song. (Wow were a Zoya party today!) After that I went back to Purity on a detail brush and drew some eight spoke stars and some random dots. Then finally I used Nubar White Polka Dot (about 2-3 coats) over the drips and the ring finger.
I love how this turned out, lots of fun!

Quick Swatch: Nubar Raspberry Truffle

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you Nubars Raspberry Truffle it's a dark brownish plum purple with magenta/berry/red sparkle in it. it's similar to Orlys Rocogogo but less sparkley and less purple/plum.
It was sheer on the first coat, but opaque in two.

Quick Swatch: Nubar Midnight Matte

Hi guys! Today I dug out a polish from my helmer I haven't used in ages. This is Nubar Midnight Matte which is a dark charcoal matte polish with a suede like finish.
I used two coats. Something I love about mattes is that they dry so fast!

Nubar Midnight Sparkle

Hi guys! Today I'm showing you an old polish by Nubar which I stumbled upon in my Helmer this week. This is Midnight Sparkle from the sparkle collection. It is a midnight blue glitter nail polish that is fairly opaque in two coats. You seriously need a topcoat with this colour, it sort of dries matte and looks like chunky blue sand without two thick coats of topcoat and then it's beautiful lol

Nubar Lavender & Essie Pure Pearlfection

Hi guys today I'm wearing one of my favourite lavender colours, this is Lavender by Nubar that was released as part of a pastel collection a few years back. I use two coats for total coverage and it has a fantastic formula. This is my favourite lavender colour I've found so far. I used to really love OPIs Do You Lilac It but I decided I wanted something more blue toned so I swapped it away years ago.

I then decided to add a coat of Essie Pure Pearlfection for some shimmer :P

What's Your favourite Pastel Purple?

Nubar Reclaim!

Hi guys! It was nice and sunny today so I decided to put on Nubar Reclaim from their Going Green Collection. Reclaim is a linear green holo! I used two coats for full opacity and it applied easily.

Nubar Hyacinth Sparkle

Hi guys! Today I'm wearing Nubar's Hyacinth Sparkle from their 2010 Sparkle Collection. This was probably my favourite from the collection as I felt it was very unique at the time.
Hyacinth Sparkle is a Lavender Glitter. It's pretty opaque in two coats, three if you want it 100% perfect. It is bumpy, but nothing two coats of Essies Good To Go couldn't fix.

Nubar Blue Hydrangea

Hi guys, today I've got on one ofn my favourite baby blues. Nubar Hydrangea is a baby blue with a very subtle silver frost. I love this one so much because it reminds me of the first nail polish I ever had, and which made me stop biting my nails, wet n wild cool blue blast. Unfortunately that polish has some serious application issues, so this is like an updated, and better version.

Blue Hydrangea applies beautifully, I had no streaks or brush strokes, just a super subtle frost. This is two coats.

Nubar Earth

Hi guys, today I thought I'd show you one of my favourite Nubar Polishes. Earth is from their Going Green collection and is often overlooked as Reclaim was also released at the same time. Anyway, Earth is an amazing green leaning teal with blue shimmers. It applies perfectly in two coats.

Thanks for Reading

A-England Lady of The Lake: Swatch & Comparison

Hi guys, so the sun finally came out today!! So I'm going to show you A-Englands Lady of The Lake!
Lady of the lake is a blue toned purple with a sight dustyness to it with a subtle holographic effect!

And in the shade.

I also decided to do a comparison shot for you guys!

On the Left is Nubar Treasure, Middle A-England Lady of The Lake, Right Color Club Wild At Heart

To me, the closest is Color Club Wild At Heart. I'm torn between which I prefer, the Color Club is much more holo and has this sort of inner glow I find really beautiful, it is also a lot more opaque than the A-England. However, The A-England's dustyness and cooler tones make it much more flattering on my skintone.

A-England polishes can be purchased at A-England.co.uk for £9.00 which as of today converts to just over 13 Australian dollars and  just over 14 US Dollars. A-England also have free international shipping.

Alternatively, A-England can be purchased from Llarowe for $12 USD plus postage and handling, which is still pretty reasonable.

Nfu-Oh #52!! Glossy & Matte

Hi guys, today I'm showing you one of my alltime favourite polishes!
NFU-OH 52!
Now I've shown this before, but these pictures are a bit better, unfortunately the beauty of 52 cannot be captured on camera! It's a blue blurple jelly base packed with blue green duchrome flakies!

I also tried it with a matte topcoat, but I like it better glossy.

I layered one coat of Nfu Oh 52 over 3 coats of Nubar Blueberry. I fully intended to swatch this for you, but I had planned on waiting till the morning to take pictures, but somehow, cleaning my makeup brushes managed to make weird cloudy marks all over it which wouldn't come off, so on went 52 lol.

However, I did take this picture holding my dogs hand? why? because I'm weird lol

Nubar Lavender & White Polka Dot

Hi guys, sorry there've been little posts lately, I 've barely had time to do my nails! Seriously, I've been wearing this for four nights (record) and wont be taking it off tonight lol
Anyway, this is two coats of Nubar Lavender which is my favourite lavender creme so far (but I'm not finished searching) I then applied one coat of Nubar White Polka Dot.

I also want to apologise as my cuticles look a bit ragged, I've been neglecting them *hangs head*

The microglitter in WPD almost seems irredescent over Lavender which I haven't noticed over other polishes - maybe I haven't worn them long enough lol.

Nubar Blue Hydrangea & Lippmann Glitter In The Air

Hi guys!
Today I'm wearing Nubar Blue Hydrangea which is a gorgoeus baby blue with a teeny bit of frost/pearl to it (but it isn't brush-strokey! yay!) On top I added Deborah Lippmann Glitter In The Air.
When I purchased this, I knew the base was sheer, but I didn't intend on wearing it alone, however, I was dissapointed with how sparse the glitter was. I had to use four coats to achieve the density in my pictures. I also had to swirl my brush all around in the polish rather than just dip it in, to pick up more than once piece of glitter.
But anyway, here it is, two coats of Blue Hydrangea and four of  Glitter In The Air

Please note that this was a fair bit brighter in real life, but we had absolutely no sun which dulled it down a bit

Here you can see tiny bits of blue/green glitter that really make this polish great!

False nails were used in this post: for reason why, please click here

I'm Back! Feat. Mod About You & White Polka Dot

Hi guys! Sorry I've been MIA lately but my internet was cut off due to a large storm last week!
I have a couple of posts to show you so I'll just get into it :)

This is two coats of Mod About You by OPI and then two coats of White Polka Dot by Nubar
I know it looks like I have a bazillion bubbles on my nails but it's the shimmer in White Polka Dot lol

Nubar Fire Sparkle Glossy & Matte (& Meet Me)

Hi guys, this is Nubar Fire Sparkle! It's got an awesome formula, opaque in two coats but fairly painful to remove because the glitter is soo tiny it gets all over your skin and cotton balls don't pick it up well -_- (Note to self: ALWAYS use the foil method with glitter)

Mattified & Meet Me after the jump!
